The 54th day – The Kingdom – hope and goodness

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” — Matthew 4:17

From that time on? Here is the background: After the baptism of Jesus, he is tested by Satan for forty days and nights in the desert. Having successfully resisted the temptations, Jesus comes out of the wilderness and begins to preach the message of the kingdom of heaven.

The kingdom of heaven? what’s that? The kingdom of heaven also refers to the Kingdom of God. Jesus tells us the kingdom of heaven is near. In this Kingdom, sins are forgiven, sicknesses are healed, poverty is eradicated, demons are expelled and even the dead are raised. The kingdom of God is truly heaven on earth.

Is there also a kingdom of earth? Since the temptation of Adam and Even in the Garden of Eden, Satan has ruled the planet earth. The earth is filled with evils, malice, filth, injustice, anger, sickness, sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, drug use; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and more … the result of these sins is DEATH. The coming of Jesus has brought us light and hope:

16 the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.” — Isaiah 9:1,2

The Kingdom of God is brought to you by the love of God through Jesus Christ. It is the light, it is the hope, it is the heaven on earth, do you believe?
