The 15th day – The Lord bless you and keep you!

The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. — Numbers 6:25 (NIV)

The Priestly Blessing
The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ‘“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

‘This is the oldest blessing in the world and it is also the most beautiful.’

1. He will bless and keep his people. The blessings of God, both spiritual and physical, are the most wonderful promises for our life. The idea of “keep you” is divine protection from the father.

2. He will make his face shine upon them like the light of a new day dawning. This suggests warmth and hope of association with the Lord. God’s presence brings comfort to the faithful, and hope to the depressed.

3. His thoughts towards them will be THOUGHTS OF GRACE – of love that’s rich yet undeserved. Our God is a the most generous God, he is delighted to give good things to His children and love us unconditionally.

4. He will lift up his face towards his children and he will grant them peace. The lord did not chose to hide his face from his children, this is a look of approval that the Lord gives to those who live by faith. How amazing is to know that God approves of the way we are and promise to grant us peace. This peace denotes stability and calmness. Then, He gave us Jesus, who is the PRINCE OF PEACE, we can be sure of his promises. Trust in the Lord today!

“The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in Thee. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God, the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.” (Isaiah 26:3,4).

This is truly the greatest of blessings.I have decided to write this verse down and put it on my wall after today’s reading. Now I feel blessed and joyful with these verses carved in my heart, though I have been distressed and troubled since yesterday. I know God is gracious, and he will bless us and protect us through any difficulties of my life. He is with us in every situation and everything we do. Amen
