The Fifth Day

“So He drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. — Genesis 3:24 (KJV) “

Adam and eve was drove out of the Garden of Eden

I read this and felt upset: The garden of Eden was once the perfect home handmade by God for Adam and Eve, Now, the father is compelled to drove them out. It was a disaster.

How could a loving Father drive his children from the home that he had made for them? According to Mark Stibbe, the ‘Tree of Life’ is a tree brought eternal life. If Adam and Eve ate of that tree, they will be forever fallen and unredeemable. Therefore, God concerns about leaving his children within reach of this deadly danger and was forced to banish them.

From that moment on (God drives them out of the garden and stations cherubim), man will suffer hardship of toiling for a living and woman the pain of giving birth. THESE ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN. How SERIOUS SIN IS in the Father’s eyes!

The Fourth day

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord has made. And he said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?” —Genesis 3:1 (NIV)

Here are a few points of my little understanding of today’s verse:

The serpent is an image of “Satan”. One of the argument is :If God has created all things Good, where did Satan come from?

Originally, Satan was an angle of light called the Morning Star (or “Lucifer”). He rebelled against God and fell from heaven, taking one third of the angels with him. Rather than retaliating directly against the Father – a fight that he could not win – Satan took his revenge by tempting human beings to forsake God and abandon the intimate relationship they had with God.

Unfortunately, our first human parents were seduced by Satan and failed in temptation. They chose to sin from a state of primal innocence and intimacy.

From then on, SIN has entered the world from Adam. We are all sinners and were separated from the Father – ORPHANED.

The Third Day

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. — Genesis 2:7 (KJV)

‘The climax of God’s creative work is the forming of Adam… The first man is FORMED by God …, and he not only formed Adam, but also he FILLED him. He breathed into Adam’s nostrils. God’s life-force entered Adam, making him a LIVING, SPEAKING SOUL. This shows that the breath that God breathed had spiritual as well as physical POWER. It wasn’t just for human existence on the earth; it was also for INTIMATE COMMUNION with God… Adam was created by God in a unique and intimate way.

When Adam came to consiousness, he was FACE TO FACE with HIS FATHER.’

It was such a magic moment: Adam was formed of the mud, he was dead but God breathed into him, it filled him and he was alive. The power of God’s breath gave us life and we became a living soul.

How wonderful and beautiful the moment is that: when we are able to be face to face with God, and He looked into our eyes with the deepest love, we can also look into his and say it in our heart that how much we have appreciated him.

The Second Day

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. — Genesis 1:26 (KJV)

Here Bible says, “Let us make man….”. It’s plural because our God is three in one—God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Trinity is the word that people later invented to describe this fundamental nature of God. Before human beings were created, God made other living creatures first (Genesis1:20-25). Then God made us in a unique way that we are made in his image and we are made after his likeness. We are different from animals not because of we are the result of a perfect evolution, but we were made to be like this. God has made us the ruler of this planet.

It has been very beneficial for me to know that I am created in God’s image and after his likeness. Just as I have inherited the gene from my earthly father,  I have also got the ‘DNA’ from my heavenly Daddy, the BEST EVER Gene I can possibly get. How could I sometimes feel worthless anymore? Now, I understood that I am made of the best qualities and personalities, and so are you! Additionally, we are also made to rule, with love and compassion of course.

It is said that our original mission is to LOVE over all that God has made. However, the first thing we need to learn is to love ourselves in positive ways, that means NO self-pity, NO unworthy feelings, NO lacking of confidence, NO self destructions and so on. We are dearly and wonderfully made by God, and he treasures and value us so much, and how could we not treasure ourselves in the same way?
