The 80th day – We are all witnesses of the fact…
God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. — Acts 2:32
Today, I have come across a very humous video that interprets the book of acts in 3 minutes. So, I thought why not share this here since we are on the book of Acts? Behold, here is the video:
So THAT was a brief description about the book of Acts. Let’s have a closer look at what has happened in today’s verse.
In Acts 2, The Holy Spirit comes upon the 120 disciples in Jerusalem when the day of pentecost comes. Simon Peter, who denied Jesus three times before his death, is now totally transformed. He boldly gives his first sermon to a huge crowd regarding the fire that has just fallen. He tells them that all this is to fulfil what the prophet Joel prophesied about God pouring out his Spirit on all flesh. Then, he was equally brave to preach about Jesus, who died on the Cross for our sins and rose from the dead by God. Peter tells the crowd that Jesus is risen and alive, he and others are all witnesses to that truth.
Peter’s courage wins the crowd over, and the truth can not be denied because many are the witnesses. Therefore, about three thousand people were saved that day.
“God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah …”
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
The message is for you. God loves you!
