The 76th day – Today you will be with me in paradise…

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” — Luke 23:42

As Mark Stibbe described in his book, there are SEVEN final statements spoken by Jesus on the Cross:
1) “FATHER, FORGIVE THEM”
2) “YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE”
3) “WOMAN, BEHOLD YOUR SON”
4) “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?”
5) “I THIRST”
6) “IT IS FINISHED.”
7) “FATHER, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.”

Today, I’m taking you to see what has happened at the last moment of Jesus crucifixion. There are two condemned thieves on both sides of Jesus. One is hard-hearted and tells Jesus to save himself and them. The other is appalled at these words and turn to Jesus with repentance, saying, “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus replies with these words in luke 23:43 ” Today you will be with me in paradise.”

That thief believes who Jesus is – the son of God, and he was saved at the last moment of his life. Jesus forgives what he has done and promised him that he will be brought into paradise with him after his death immediately.  It is never too late to know God and turn to Jesus!

God loves you!
