The 34th day – God Provides

The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha. “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord, But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” — 2 Kings 4:1(NIV)

Elisha was anointed by Elijah to be his successor. His name means ‘My God is Salvation’. Elisha received double blessings from God through Elijah, so we find twice the number of miracles in Elisha’s ministry as in his predecessor’s.

In today’s verse 2 Kings 4 it reflects the story of Elisha’s first miracle in his ministry: The widow and the oil (please see the video below)

In this story, ‘Elisha performs a miracle of PROVISION for a widow. Her two sons have become orphans. They are now FATHERLESS and they are in danger of being sold into slavery. Elisha supernaturally supplies a superabundance of oil for the widow and her sons. therefore she can clear her debts and live on the remains. Elisha’s conduct reveals how closely he embodies the Father’s compassion for the widow and the orphan.’

Additionally, God provides in extraordinary ways when we are willing to give him what we have!

What do you have that you can give it to God, the father today? The father loves you and he provides for all you need.

God bless you!
